BIH incorporates best practices learned and creates a sustainable entity within AUAF utilizing the vast and growing AUAF resources of the business school, law school, PDI; private sector partners such as ACCI, AMCHAM, Goldman Sachs 10K Women, the USAWC network of NGOs, etc.; the business community; and public sector entities.  Key partners include Afghan entities such as the Ministry of Commerce and Industries and other specific sector ministries.

The center occupies approximately 2,071 square feet in the ICAWED building and has access to numerous seminars and classrooms as well as the 170 person auditorium and additional facilities of ICAWED. The designated space has room to house eighteen companies fully equipped with furniture and necessary technology.

Business Innovation Hub facilitates the growth of Afghan businesses, assists in the preparation to be market ready and ultimately raises the visibility of Afghan business profile in the global arena. In addition to the fundamental services to assist entrepreneurs that include composition of business plans, marketing assistance, legal and regulatory consulting, product adaptation and design, BIH helps promote and provide access to international financing and potential customers. The final result increases stability for Afghanistan’s small- and medium-sized enterprises.

The American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) is a private, non-profit university offering an American-style liberal arts education. We opened our doors in 2005 and currently offer four undergraduate academic majors and an MBA program. Afghanistan is currently emphasizing development of young Afghans to lead economic and social development, and the American University of Afghanistan is the only source of American-style liberal arts education based on global standards. Established in 2005, the University has already produced a significant number of Fulbright Scholars and individuals working at high levels in government, international agencies, and the private sector.

The University offers degrees in business, law, political science and public administration, and information and communications technologies. Instruction is in English. The academic year is based on the traditional fall and spring semesters system with two five-week summer sessions.

The Business Department offers a Masters of Business Administration and Bachelors of Business Administration with four concentrations: Accounting, Finance, Marketing, and Operations Management. The University has just begun the accreditation process and will work with a partner American university to improve curriculum, teaching, and research, and obtain accreditation.

The Senior Coordinator has overall responsibility for day-to-day operations of the Business Department. He or she also handles information requests from and solves problems of undergraduate and graduate business students. This person must be an excellent planner and be self-reliant in the performance of his or her job duties. The Senior Coordinator is an integral part of the Business Department team.

The Senior Coordinator oversees an Administrative Assistant who performs basic administrative duties such as deliveries and filing.
