Agency Coordination Body for Afghan Relief and Development (ACBAR) Projects

The Agency Coordinating Body for Afghan Relief and Development (ACBAR) is an umbrella organization that promotes transparency and accountability as well as facilitating coordination among NGOs working in Afghanistan with the government, civil society, UN and donor agencies.
ACBAR was founded in 1988 by NGOs working with Afghan refugees in Pakistan and acts as a conduit for information among the UN, NGOs, donors and the Government of Afghanistan (GoA). Among its current donors are Peace Winds Japan, Tawanmandi, DFID and NGO members. ACBAR currently has a membership of 140 national and international NGOs. All applicants are vetted and are required to sign the Afghanistan NGO Code of Conduct. The General Assembly of ACBAR members meet twice a year and annually nominates a 16-member steering committee to oversee ACBAR activities. For more info please visit 
ACBAR seeks an active and well organized Policy and Communications Officer, based in Kabul. As a highly motivated individual with substantial experience of the communications sector, policy and research, with excellent writing and interpersonal skills, you will undertake high quality policy, communications and research support for the work of the ACBAR and its membership.
