Since 1974, our educational portfolio has grown to include 90 countries important to national security, prosperity, and peace. Our programs are backed by thorough research to ensure their quality and integrity. Our participants represent a spectrum of learners, from high school through the postdoctoral and professional level.

Purpose of Position:  American Councils for International Education is seeking highly qualified Afghan English Educators for the anticipated Afghan University Student Exchange Program (AUSEP) set to begin in September 2020. AUSEP is an intensive, five-week, American-style, professional training program for third-year Afghan undergraduates studying English language aimed at enhancing and broadening professional skills and cross-cultural understanding. Funded by the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, these positions are contingent on successful acquisition of the grant.

Afghan English Educators will collaborate with English Language Experts in the US to develop course curriculum and materials that will drive two, five-week academic programs per year. In addition to improving participants’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening pedagogical skills, American Councils seeks candidates with experience training in classroom management, English for academic and specific purposes, use of technology in English language teaching, and integrating multiple English-language skills into the same lesson
