DHSA/ Rana No. 2 High School

DHSA’s key areas of focus are independent media & public communication, education and the celebration of cultural heritage.<br />DHSA seeks to be self-sustainable, striving to create and manage projects, which generate their own incomes and reduce dependence on donors.<br />TKG was created by DHSA in 2002 as a public media initiative dedicated to increasing public access to independent information in an effort to improve lives, to foster pluralism and give voices of reason and freedom in Afghanistan greater opportunities for expression. TKG operates ten local radio stations (Radio Killid Network) and publishes and distributes the three most popular magazines in Afghanistan (Mujal-i-Killid, a general interest and news magazine, Mursal a women’s magazine and Sapida quarterly magazine).<br /> </p>

Gawharshad Institute of Higher Education
<p>Gawharshad Institute of Higher Education (GIHE) is a non-profit university which was founded by Dr. Sima Samar, one of the most prominent human rights activists globally, in August 2010. The institute is registered with ministry of economy and ministry of higher education of Afghanistan. Since its establishment, GIHE has been working on the empowerment of women through provision of 20% discount in tuition fees for its female students. As a result, 34% of its students are females, the highest percentage among private universities in Afghanistan. GIHE has a distinct policy towards women and aims to increase their role in its academic life. To fulfill this goal, it has established Women Empowerment Center (WEC) in 2011. Since then, the center has made significant progress and has made the following achievements; Recently, the institute received a grant from UN-Women through which 1200 individuals will receive a comprehensive training on CEDAW and SCR 1325. The project will be implemented in 3 zones and 8 provinces. Six experienced and qualified trainers will conduct 2 capacity building workshops of three days for 150 beneficiaries in each province. </p>

Alfalah Institute of Higher Education
<p>Background<br />ALFALAH Institute of Higher Education (AIHE), which opened its doors in 2011 with an initial enrolment of 120 students, today enrols more than 5000 full time students which is recognition of the efforts made by AIHE to build a standard infrastructure and to provide quality education opportunities to its students. It has proven itself as one of the prestigious institutes of higher education in Afghanistan in the field of Civil Engineering, Business management sciences, Journalism, sharia, law and political science. The institute is currently operating in Jalalabad and planning to establish quality education provision network throughout the country.<br />ALFALAH Institute of Higher Education (AIHE) is well-equipped to provide standard business education and capacity building trainings to the students as well as public and private sectors’ workforce in a befitting manner. The faculty members are at least Master Degree holders from internationally recognized universities at least having a minimum of three years of teaching experience.
