CURE International Hospital – Afghanistan
<p><u><strong>Program: </strong></u></p> <p>CURE International Hospital is primarily a teaching hospital with services in family medicine, internal medicine, paediatrics, OBGYN, pathology, general surgery, plastic surgery and orthopaedics. The hospital and adjacent Family Health Centre provide quality, evidence-based care for all patients (whether private or regular, in-patient or out-patient).</p> <p>CURE has set up a project to care for women injured in childbirth. Surgical care is offered free of charge for women with this disability and although this is a common problem in Afghanistan, it is not widely understood and few women know that they can be cured. In addition to treating this disability, CURE is working to raise community awareness regarding this issue.</p> <p><strong>Purpose of the Position:</strong></p> <p>The coordinator’s main responsibility will be to increase awareness of this problem throughout Afghanistan and facilitate in developing relationships with both MOPH and NGOs working in health in order to create access through referral so that women can be brought from the provinces for surgery here in Kabul.</p>

Al-Farhad Hospital Kandahar
<p>al-Farhad Diagnostic and Curative Hospital was established in 2001. Since then, Hospital facilities have been expanded to 24 beds and include the addition of modern technologies.</p> <p>The hospital is registered with Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and the Afghanistan Investment Support Agency AISA. Afshar Hospital
<p>~~Background</p> <p>The COPE (Community Outreach and Patient Education) program is a part of Afshar Hospital and AAHO. <br /> COPE provides basic health services include Antenatal, Postnatal, Family planning, Child screening less than 10 years and Vaccination. It has a basic health education program and an individual health education class for mother-in-laws to increase health awareness.<br /> COPE has a training program for HHW (home health worker) to follow high risk pregnant women.</p> <p>Purpose:</p> <p>The COPE Team leader is responsible for the supervision of all staff and programs of the COPE Department and insures that the policies and procedures of Afshar Hospital and COPE are strictly followed. She will use her experience as a midwife to ensure the highest level of patient care is maintained.</p>

CURE also runs a Family Health Clinic where family medicine and obstetrical are is offered.</p> <p>The medical training programs currently running at the hospital include an 18 months OBGYN fellowship program, two years General Surgery Fellowship program, a 3-years residency program for family medicine, and a 3-years residency program for pathology. Some of the doctors on completion of their training in these programs will be sent to other needy areas as specialist trainers and continue to provide quality patient care while others will remain in Kabul.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Purpose of the Position:</strong></p> <p>The Head of Diagnostic Medical sonography will be responsible for establishing</p> <p>and maintaining good evidence-based, standards of care for patients, both public and private.
